For sale here is a bamboo rod made by RD (Bob) Taylor - 7' 2/2 for a 4 weight line (Model 24). Serial no. 288. The rod is in excellent used condition. All sections are full length and straight. A truly stunning, classically designed rod that harkens back to the golden age of bamboo. Medium flamed cane. Deep golden wraps with red tipping. Red, gold, and plum tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. Blued hardware throughout. Ring hook keeper. Swelled butt. Cigar grip is soiled but in excellent shape. Nickel silver checks on either side of the grip. Handsomely blued cap and ring over a very nice walnut insert. There are a few minor marks on the insert from a reel foot. The bluing also shows some wear around the edges. Stamped on the buttcap is, "RD TAYLOR MAKERS". Ferrule size 11/64, the fit is perfect. The rod weighs 3 3/8 oz. The rod feels light and quick in the hand, well balanced. The action is on the faster side of medium-fast and has a nice action for dry fly fishing. Includes original bag and tube with brass fittings as well as a canvas cover for the tube.
